While all our adult classes are coed, we understand that women have unique needs that are best met in a women’s only environment. Busy, single career women, married moms, and aging grandmas enjoy our weekly women’s only Jiu Jitsu class. This class is a great place to develop a new physical skill, get good exercise, and learn self defense in a short period of time.
The women’s only Jiu Jitsu class is particularly recommended for women who are learning a martial art for the first time. We understand that many women need a safe area where they can learn martial arts in a warm, encouraging environment.
We also welcome women who want to learn self-defense skills or regain their confidence after an assault. Unfortunately, up to 25% of all women will become victims of assault in their lifetime. What’s more, in about 50% of all assault cases the assailant is someone the woman knows. Jiu Jitsu classes can give you the skills you need to ward off an assailant and help you dispel the fear and anxiety that comes with being the victim of a violent crime.
If you’re not sure if martial arts are right for you, try working out with some women from our club. You will find yourself gaining the skills and inner strength you need to face challenges inside and outside the classroom. As you build on your skills, you will discover an inner strength you never thought you had. You will also learn to release your frustrations and stress in a stimulating environment. By the time class is over, you will feel refreshed rather than frustrated at life’s many problems and concerns.
